For each exhibition, the Albertina art educators have developed didactic programs for all school levels, including kindergartens.
The museum's educational tours focus on examining art in a communicative, active manner. The contents and methods are geared to the individual requirements of the group. Visual aids, work sheets and interactive games help children and young people to question and describe the works of art. This conversational manner of examining art stimulates their ability to associate and express themselves verbally.
At the end of the exhibition tour, the group is invited to take part in an art workshop in the museum's Format Werk art studio. Let what you have seen and experienced inspire you to produce your own artwork or to work together on a group masterpiece.
An important aspect of our educational programme is to let our young visitors give their creativity free rein. Therefore there is no charge for workshops attended after completing a tour.
All programs are available in and can be booked in the following languages at no extra charge: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, Rumanian, Russian and in sign language for the hearing impaired upon request.
Small groups are more conducive to holding students attention and getting them involved. We recommend that classes of more than 24 students be divided into two groups. The tours for the groups are held simultaneously.
Kindergarten groups should not exceed 15 children.
Pre-registration is required.
Teacher tours (in German)
