Spanish Apartments

Archduke Friedrich had the Spanish Apartments created in 1895. They were the Spanish royal family’s only permanent residential apartments outside Spanish territory. The suite of seven rooms was largely destroyed during the Second World War. Some of the original furnishings by Joseph Danhauser have been restored to the two surviving rooms.

Small Spanish Apartment

Although the Small Spanish Apartment is too small to host events itself, the doors can be opened during a reception or dinner held in the large Spanish Apartment.

Large Spanish Apartment

The light and airy Large Spanish Apartment is an elegant venue for daytime events such as conferences, seminars, contract-signing ceremonies or press conferences. Luncheons and afternoon receptions also take place here. Refreshments can be served next door in the Archduke Carl’s Room.
