ART AFTER 1970: FROM THE ALBERTINA

On view are around 150 works from the Albertina’s extensive contemporary art holdings. The exhibition contrasts the approaches of some of the featured artists by juxtaposing their work. Thus Georg Baselitz is presented in a dialogue with Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke with Markus Lüpertz, Alex Katz with Roy Lichtenstein, and the Leipzig-based Christiane Baumgartner with Franz Gertsch. Works by Maria Lassnig, Arnulf Rainer, Robert Longo and William Kentridge are shown in individual rooms.
