Florence and Daniel Guerlain began acquiring contemporary drawings during the 1990s, and the period since then has seen them compile an extensive collection of works by international artists. Each year, this collecting couple also solicits entries for its “Prix de dessin,” the winners of which are chosen by a jury. 2013 saw this couple donate a part of their collection—totaling 1,200 drawings—to the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The Albertina Museum is currently presenting a glimpse into the Guerlains’ collecting activities with a group of highlights from these holdings.
