Nursery & Preschool | A Colorful World of Animals

3–6 years of age

Here, 3-to-6-year-old museum experts set out to find the various animals pictured in the exhibition. And on their hunt, they’ll encounter adventuresome portrayals indeed: blue cows, wild red horses, and flying fish. Are we familiar with—and can we recognize—all of the animals? What colors did the artists paint them in? And what stories do they tell us?
Back at the studio, the young participants create pictures of imaginary animals using colored construction paper.

The exhibition Monet to Picasso presents the ALBERTINA Museum’s extensive holdings of classical modernist paintings and provides an outstanding overview of all the “-isms” to be found in 20th-century art history. This freshly redone public presentation of the permanent collection runs from Impressionism and Fauvism to German Expressionism and Bauhaus and on to the Russian avant-garde and Picasso.
