Middle School | Painting à la Hermann Nitsch!
For teenagers from 10 to 14 years
Hermann Nitsch is one of Austria’s most important artists. Intermediate-level school students can get to know the output of this painter, who’s now over 80 years old, in this age-appropriate participatory tour. For each of his groups of works, Nitsch developed a special approach—and the results of these approaches can now be experienced for the first time at the Albertina Museum as Spaces of Color. Smearing, pouring, brushing … for Nitsch, paint and color represent an experience that involves multiple senses.
At the studio, we discover the origins of painting: using finger paints, we produce an abstract painting that documents the movements we make.
