Nursery & Preschool | Four Seasons
A tour for daycare, preschool, and primary school groups
The four seasons are among the most popular themes among very small children as well as children of preschool and primary school age. In the ALBERTINA Museum’s participatory tour, an age-appropriate model of our planet shows how the seasons come to be. We discuss the four seasons’ differing characteristics, the associated changes that take place in the landscape, and the significance of these things in everyday life. At the center of our focus are the four seasons from an artistic standpoint. How do artists depict spring? How can one paint the summer’s searing heat? What all does autumn have to offer? And what colors does winter snow reveal?
In a 30-minute workshop back at the studio, the participating children use crayons to create a picture of the seasons. In the 60-minute workshop, they create a three-dimensional four seasons tree.
