Information for Donors in the United States of America
The Albertina is a not-for-profit scientific institution organized under Austrian law exclusively and directly to pursue charitable purposes. We rely on the generosity of patrons like you to support our activities, sustain our mission, and preserve these masterworks for future generations.
Donations can be made in kind or in cash and by credit card. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law.
For U.S. persons seeking to maximize their tax benefits, donations may be directed through the following organizations:
Cash contribution
1. The International Friends of the Albertina Museum, Inc., (“IFAM”) is a duly organized New York-based IRS § 501(c)(3) private foundation (EIN 26-0899522). Donations of $250 or more will receive a formal Gift Receipt for IRS substantiation purposes.
Artwork contribution
2. Myriad USA is a New York-based organization that works with individuals, companies, foundations, and professional advisors to facilitate tax-efficient charitable giving. It is a U.S. public charity within the meaning of Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donors are eligible for a U.S. income tax deduction for their contributions, to the extent permitted by U.S. tax law (EIN 58-2277856).
Myriad USA accepts a wide range of assets, including artworks, as donations. Donated artworks are typically loaned to the ALBERTINA for an initial period of 3–5 years. Following the loan period, Myriad’s Board of Directors reviews the works for permanent donation to the ALBERTINA collection.
