The ALBERTINA Museum is dedicating a major exhibition to Richard Prince, presenting works from the 1970s to the present day. At its core is photography, Prince’s principal medium. On view are iconic series such as Fashion, Gangs, and Cowboys, alongside rare or never-before-exhibited works—from his groundbreaking rephotographs of advertisements and autobiographically inflected images from rural New York State to complex collages assembled from found material.
On the occasion of the exhibition, a symposium with national and international guests will take place on Friday, June 19. On Saturday, June 20, Walter Moser, curator of the exhibition and Chief Curator of the ALBERTINA Photography Collection, together with art historian and curator Sydney Stutterheim, will guide visitors through the exhibition.
