Modern Art

Now at the
ALBERTINA Museum

Albertinaplatz 1, Vienna

The audience room in the state rooms of the ALBERTINA is decorated entirely in red: The seating, walls and curtains are covered in red fabric. A large, dark painting with a golden border hangs on the wall. On two of the walls, a mirror covers almost the entire height of the wall. In front of the mirror on the floor are tables with candlesticks on them. White, gathered curtains and red, floor-length side panels with golden embroidery hang in front of the windows. Two large crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling.

Painting: A beach in the foreground with the sea and large boulders on the beach and in the water. Two fishermen are standing by the rocks near the beach and a woman in a white blouse and blue trousers with a turban on her head is kneeling with her arms resting on her thighs looking at something on the beach. In the background is the harbor with small sailing ships and mountains. Artists on the move
Until 24 August 2025
The artist kneels in front of a wall. She is wearing a long dress with a black polka dot pattern. She has turned to the side and is looking at the viewer. The zipper of the dress is attached to the side of the dress and is open. The wall and floor are very worn and cracked. There is even a round hole in the wall above the artist. The picture is a black and white photograph.
